Being an Orlando native, I’ve grown up going to Universal Studios…but I’ve never experienced the parks quite like this. The ultimate staycation began when I checked into the Hard Rock Hotel, which is on property and virtually a stone’s throw from the parks. Upon check in, I was advised that guests of the resort receive Universal Express Unlimited passes. Never in my life had I experienced this luxury, and I’ll tell you it has ruined me now. The Florida heat can get intense, so having the ability to head straight to the front of the lines & rides was truly appreciated.
Although my high school prom was at the Hard Rock at City Walk, I had actually never stepped foot in this beautiful hotel. I was delighted to find colorful decor, a large pool and deck area, shops and dining all onsite.
The lobby even featured an awesome collection of musician’s performance outfits. Once I was able to enter my room, I was pleased to see a little surprise waiting. Without wasting any time, I dropped my luggage and raced to the parks.
After a long day at the parks, it was nice to lay my head in one of the most comfortable beds and get some shut eye before brunch bright and early. Experiencing The Kitchen at Hard Rock’s Acoustic Brunch was one of my favorite memories of 2019. With a large assortment of sweet treats and everything else in between – this buffet and bottomless brunch was TO DIE FOR. Have you seen a happier Katie? For only $39 per adult, you too can enjoy LIVE acoustic music (by the way they take requests) and stuff your face. The brunch itself is family friendly (ages 3-9 $13 & 10-14 $17) but does include a Bloody Mary bar + mimosas for those 21+. After this wonderful weekend, I know where I’ll be planning more staycations. The convenience factor of being in the heart of both the parks and City Walk made the entire experience a lot more enjoyable. The delicious food and theme park thrills were just what I needed! I’m definitely down for another trip to Universal Studios soon.
Here’s to many more adventures!
